NEQM is pleased to welcome three of the quiltmakers involved in "Go the Distance," a collaborative polyptych quilt project conceived by the Marathon Quilt Guild. The project is comprised of eight individual panels, one for each town along the route of the Boston Marathon.

In January, 2025, the Marathon Quilt Guild issued an open invitation to quilt and textile guilds and artists across the state to participate. The goal was to celebrate 130 years of Boston Marathon history and the culture of each town along the course. More than forty artists from across the state collaborated on this project, which was completed in January, 2026. The polyptich quilt will eventually be housed at the International Marathon Center which is planned for Hopkinton, Massachusetts.
