Tiny Pieces – Vast Visions
Works by Deb Cashatt, Susan J. Lapham, Niraja Lorenz and Irene Roderick
On view April 14 through June 27, 2026
After a serendipitous meeting during an online co-presentation in 2021, four artists from different parts of the United States discovered their shared fascination with the transformative power of piecing. All four had work accepted in an exhibition of fiber art at the Visions Museum of Textile Art in San Diego, California. As they listened to each other’s presentations and viewed each other’s work, they soon realized that displayed together, their art would form a vibrant, compelling and cohesive exhibition.
New England Quilt Museum is pleased to present these works by Deb Cashatt, Susan J. Lapham, Niraja Lorenz and Irene Roderick. All four have worked for many years in the fiber art medium, and their contemporary art quilts have been juried into national exhibitions. Though each artist has developed her own aesthetic, their fearless improvisational styles and shared approaches to construction employ tiny pieces to create vast visions.
